The road to Wembley with the FA Trophy will start on the weekend of Saturday 3rd October with the Preliminary Round games involving clubs from the six step four leagues.
The draw includes a host of famous old names from the competition's past glory. 1992 runner's up Witton Albion face a home tie with Ossett Albion, 1984 winners (and twice runner's up in 1983 and 1986) Northwich Victoria who travel to Lancaster City, 2003 winners Burscough who face a home tie with Bamber Bridge, Twice winners (1972 and 1979) and one time runner's up (1976) Stafford Rangers welcome Tividale, 1980 runner's up Mossley who play at home to Harrogate RA and one time runner's up Leek Town (1990) play Lincoln United.
Rushden and Diamonds famously got to the semi-finals in 1995 and the quarter-final stage in 2000 last played in the competition in their final season in 2010/11 when they lost in the first round to Eastwood Town. The new club AFC Rushden and Diamonds play their first game in the competition following their promotion last season with a home game against Basford United.
As with the FA Cup the Step three teams enter in the 1st Qualifying Round games meaning many either/or games. The Cold End being an Enfield Town will be looking forward to the home game against the winners of the Carshalton Athletic v Leighton Town tie - and hopefully a nice Trophy run??
